Freaky how time flies (omigosh 21!! thats the same age as me, for the next 2 months at least) eh? I can still remember how recent it seemed when we celebrated the your birthday for the first time together in Suntec Olio ;)

PROJECT 21 --> IN ACTION!

FINALLY THE DAY HAS DAWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cherlyn and Nicky has agreed to meet earlier to prepare for UP!!!! Thank God Nicky brought along a KAH KIA for Cherlyn so she can use the KAH KIA to help carry things!!! SO MANY THINGS TO CARRY!! :) Armed with BEE HOON (made by Cherlyn herself, mind you) and utensils and a huge bag, Cherlyn made her first check point to MIDDLE ROAD to meet Nicky and KK (KAH KIA) to get the BALLOONSSS!! Nicky had finally escaped from evil project groupmates and nightmarish presentations!!! YAY!!!



WAHOOO!! Indeed, the above are EXCLUSIVE pictures found only on this BLOG!!! You may think that you have seen it all on FACEBOOK.. but NO YOU HAVEN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many people were early or on time to meet at Marina Bay!! And special thanks to NAT NAT the KK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway the shuttle bus to Marine Barrage was super duper EPIC FAIL and we only reached Marina Barrage like many hours later! Fortunately the bus was EPIC FAIL for Nicky and Janice too!!! And Nicky had his sneaky plans to stall for time!!!

However, TO CUT THE SAD STORY SHORT, our surprise failed terribly!! But take courage, Hugh and your two mysterious friends! it's the thought that counts and Janice surely loved the thought that you guys came up with!! Here's a video on the aftermath of the failed surprise!! HAHAHA



Matilda took some videos on our dance practice and surprise rehearsals before Janice and Nicky pounced upon us gracefully, taking us unaware!!!!!!!!!!! They are not here at the moment, but YOU KNOW THEY ARE SOMEWHERE AROUND!! HAHA! :) Hugh felt so terrible about the failed surprise that he did his solo dance in front of janice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The day before... Cherlyn and i have been busily sending out so many smses!!.. we kinda got most of the stuff finalized. I got the present wrapped:

and managed to get a little extra something done, it's a limited edition "Janice's 21st Birthday" badge!!.. it's one of a kind!

Cake Buying Adventure!

With all the details in the invitation settled, now it is time to settle the most important thing... THE CAKE!!! What's a birthday party without a cake. So I needed to go back to the cake place to choose the most suitable cake. However, my partner in crime surprises, Cherlyn, was not available.. Hence I enlisted the help of my fellow NS mate cum NUS schoolmate (see Picture).

Anyway, we made our way down to Orchard (once again, no metal bar climbing wall or going-to-open new shopping centre could distract us). and finally we were at the shop!!

After considering all the options available there, we reached the same conclusion as the time when i was there with Cherlyn. The winner for the most UP-ish looking cake is none other than:

This fluffy, cloud-looking apple tart cake..

With the advice of the expert and unanimous votes, we made the decision for the chosen cake for Project S21..
The reciept. Confirm, guarantee plus chop. The birthday cake, to be collected on 29 August 2009...

Invite Part 2!!!

WAHOO!!! we're on the way!!

Although the event clashes with a worship seminar by Uncle Ser Choon, there are also people who are not involved!! :) So people are starting to respond to come down for the SuRPriSE!!!!!!!!

And we also have special guests who are UP to come for UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And our dear friend, Hugh also has plans for a special performance! Here are the sneaks!

Operation Toilet

Almost a month had passed since the commencement of Project S21. Cherlyn and I needed to meet up again to finalize some details. Anyway, since we were supposed to meet Janice for dinner yesterday night at cityhall, we wanted to meet earlier before she arrived.

However, Janice sms me and ask to meet in Clementi where we will travel to City Hall together. Faced with such a predicament, the genius masterminds had no choice but to launch Operation Toilet: -

What's that? you say. Well, according to the Cherlyn's law of foodiness, it states: "when a person who can't eat lots of chilli eats chilli, they will need lots of water!" Hence, commons sense dictates that if you drink lots of water, you will go to the toilet right?

Hence, to put the plan into action, we went to:

Actually we just wanted to order maybe 1 spicy dish and hope that it works, but we kinda got carried any and ordered a whole table worth of spicy food. As Cherlyn's law of foodiness came into action, Janice was drinking gallons of water.

After dinner we were about to go for dessert at changing appetites, just when we thought all was going to fail, Janice excused herself to go to the washroom just before we entered the restaurant!! SUCCESS!! Within the split second she was gone, and thanks to our lightning quick reactions, we finalized lots of details, timings and all the minor issues (well, it also helped that she went 1 more time).

Mission Successfull! Look out for our updated invitation!

Whilst Janice is happily oblivious at orientation camp, the MASTERMINDS Cherlyn Oh and NICKY LER sneak out to come up with a MASTER birthday SURPRISE PLAN and hunt for the perrrfect BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!!

Sigh!! HEADACHE! all the cakes are so pretty but which would fit the bill??? :(

Besides the cake, we also settled on details such as venue, pple to invite, things to do, things to bring and mode of surprise. HAHAHA

What is it?
